LABOR LAW
Deborah has extensive experience working in a union environment. She served as in-house counsel to three (3) major labor unions including the National Association of Government Employees (NAGE), the Communications Workers of America (CWA) and the Screen Actors Guild (SAG). Further, while studying for her L.L.M. (Master of Laws) in Labor Law at NYU School of Law, she worked as a Field Attorney with the Federal Labor Relations Authority (FLRA), the federal sector counterpart to the NLRB. As a result, Deborah has considerable experience handling all types of labor -management relations matters in the federal, public (state, county and municipal) and private sectors.
She can assist your labor union with the following:
· Unfair Labor Practice Cases (“ULP”) before the NLRB and FLRA.
· Representation Cases (“R Cases”) before the NLRB and FLRA.
· Internal Union Affairs.
· Defense of alleged violations of the Labor Management Reporting & Disclosure Act (LMRDA) before the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Labor-Management.
· Legal advice and assistance with organizational campaigns, petitions for representation, picketing, and strikes.
· Assist with or participate in contract (CBA) negotiations.
· Grievance Representation.
· Represent union and its members in Labor Arbitrations.
· Represent individuals in Civil Service Commission Hearings.
· Civil Litigation (State & Federal Trial Courts).
