About Deborah Krane
Deborah Krane is the founding Attorney of The Krane Law Firm, where she exclusively represents federal, public (state, county, municipal) and private sector employees in a wide range of Labor and Employment Law matters across Texas. With over three decades of legal experience, she brings expertise, fierce advocacy, and a personalized approach to every case.
Originally from New York, Deborah earned her B.A. from Georgetown University and her J.D. with Honors from The John Marshall Law School (now the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law). She later earned an LL.M. (Masters) in Labor Law from New York University School of Law.
Deborah began her legal career as a Trial Attorney with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) in Chicago, followed by service as a Field Attorney with the Federal Labor Relations Authority (FLRA) in New York City and Chicago. She went on to serve as in-house Counsel for major labor unions including the National Association of Government Employees (NAGE/SEIU), the Communications Workers of America (CWA), and the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) in the Los Angeles area. During her final years in California, she worked at two (2) prominent Police Defense firms, representing law enforcement officers, mostly police officers and deputy sheriffs, and their Associations.
About 20 years later, Deborah relocated to Austin from California and opened a law office focusing on Employment Law matters. After a few years, she served as a civilian Labor and Employment Attorney at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City before returning to Texas, this time to the Dallas-Fort Worth area, where she worked for several years for a small firm where she advised and assisted employees and small to medium-sized employers.
Deborah launched her own firm in August 2024, committed to advocating for workers’ rights in a State where employment protections are very limited. Drawing on extensive experience and federal legal protections, she offers strong, strategic representation tailored to the needs of each Client.
She is currently expanding her practice to include representation of Labor Unions and their members as well as Law Enforcement Officers. Known for her direct communication and Client-focused approach, Deborah offers accessible legal services and strives to keep her rates reasonable.
